Turtle Derby 5k Trail Race

Join us for a turtle derby themed 5K trail race at Hopkins Farm Brewery on Saturday April 10th, 2027 to raise funds for local wildlife conservation. For more information, visit the race page.

Race Goals

• Raise funds: for Susquehannock Wildlife Society's local wildlife conservation efforts
• Raise awareness: about turtle population declines and conservation efforts
• Build community: between local wildlife conservationists, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts
• Have fun: running around Hopkins Farm Brewery. Turtle costumes encouraged!

Packet Pickup

• Friday April 9th: 2027, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Susquehannock Wildlife Conservation Center (1725 Trappe Church Rd, Darlington, MD)
• Saturday April 10th: 2027, from 7:30 to 8:30 am at Hopkins Farm Brewery (3833 Rider Ln, Havre De Grace, MD)

Race Details

• Arrival: Runners need to arrive at the start line at 9:00 am
• Introduction: Brief introduction to the race from 9:00 to 9:10 am
• Start time: The race will start at 9:10 am
• After party: Turtley awesome after party 9:30-11:00 am
• Beer: Beer available for purchase after 10 am
• Award ceremony: 10:30 am
• Course: The course will be a meandering 5K around the trails at Hopkins Farm Brewery

Giveaways

• Medal: Every participant will receive a wooden race medal
• Shirt: Add a race tee shirt for $5.00
• Order deadline: Race tees will be ordered on 3/27/2027, any sign ups after this date will have the option to purchase a shirt at the race.

Awards and Prizes

• Awards: Will be given to the top three males and females in each age group
• Age groups: 10 and under, 11-18, 19-30, 30-50, 50 and over
• Costume prizes: Prizes given to the most realistic, most original, best overall, best group, and best family turtle costume

After Party

• Join us: After you are done racing, join us for the turtley awesome after party
• Awards presentation: Awards and prizes will be presented at 10:30 am
• Live music: Enjoy live music by Sean O'Brien
• Refreshments: Grab a beer at Hopkins Farm Brewery
