Mission
The Freedom for Fighters 5K Walk/Run Event is presented to Mountain Home, Idaho, in honor of all who are crushed in spirit; specifically, those who carry the hidden wounds of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Depression. This event is brought to you by the Jason Barney Family and the City of Mountain Home.
- Unique Participation: Participants can fill a backpack with canned goods at the start to represent the burdens carried by those 'crushed in spirit'.
- Checkpoints: There will be checkpoints to unload weight, ensuring participants are free to sprint the last leg of the race.
- Celebration: All participants will be celebrated at the finish line for finishing the race.
- Goal: The Barney Family aims to end silent suffering and support those fighting hidden battles.
Community Impact
Proceeds will go to charitable organizations supporting veterans, first responders, and abuse victims, and will contribute to the construction of a healing ranch aimed at providing holistic healing. We believe in a greater plan for healing the heart, soul, and mind of those who are crushed in spirit.
