Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k

🦃 Race Overview

• Date: Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26th, 2026 at 9:00 am.
• Location: Starts and finishes next to Albemarle High School.
• Course: A neighborhood course featuring flat stretches and gentle rolling hills, totaling 133 feet of elevation gain.
• Parking: Ample parking available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary.

🍽️ Beneficiary Support

• Food Bank: The race supports the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry.
• Impact: These organizations provide critical food resources to individuals and families in need.
• Service Area: Blue Ridge Area Food Bank serves Central Virginia and is affiliated with Feeding America.
• Local Pantry: Loaves & Fishes is the largest distributor of food from the food bank in Charlottesville, allowing families to receive groceries up to twice a month.

👟 Registration Details

• Fee: Race registration is $35 beginning Sept. 1.
• Shirt: Registration includes a soft technical race t-shirt while supplies last: sign up by October 26 to guarantee a shirt.
• Teams: Participants may register individually or form a team to compete for the four fastest cumulative times.
• Bragging Rights: Teams enjoy year-long bragging rights based on their performance.

• Medical Services: Local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site for safety.

📦 Packet Pickup Schedule

• Tuesday: Nov. 24 from 3-6pm at Connect Church, 2080 Lambs Rd.
• Wednesday: Nov. 25 from 1-5pm at Connect Church, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
• Race Day Pickup: Available from 7:45am-8:30am at the race venue at Albemarle High School’s main track entrance.
• Late Registration: From Nov 25, 6pm thru Nov. 26th 8:30am: late fee increases to $48.

🏃‍♂️ Virtual Option

• Availability: Run your Turkey Trot 5k anywhere between 11/26/2026-11/29/2026 until 5:00pm.
• Shirt Guarantee: Sign up by Oct 26 to ensure a t-shirt in your size.

No dogs on the race course.

Strollers are permitted only in the last wave—no exceptions. If stroller participants do not start in the final wave, this option will not be offered in future races.
