Chester 4th of July Fun Run

One mile route down historic Chester Main Street!

The Almanor Recreation and Park District’s 45th annual Chester 4th of July Fun Run will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The one mile run/walk will start on the Collins Pine lawn located at 500 Main Street and proceed down Chester’s historic Main Street to the finish at the Bidwell House located at 1 Main Street.

Event Highlights

• Commemorative T-shirt: Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt (first 400 registrants).
• Refreshments: Enjoy refreshments at the finish line.
• Post-event Activities: There will be a 4th of July Craft Fair at Chester Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Parade: A 4th of July Parade starting at 11 a.m. on Main Street.

Participation Information

The one mile route down Main Street is open to participants of all ages and abilities, and adds to the excitement of the 4th of July celebration in town. The Fun Run is ARPD's largest fundraising event and all proceeds benefit District programs and events, as well as capital improvement projects, with an emphasis on recreation, parks and trails.
