Swamp Stomp Half Marathon & 1 Mile Fun Run

The Lake Area Runners presents the Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon and the 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

Race Location

• Start/Finish Point: Graywood Park, 3861 Gray Market Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70605.
• Course: The course through the streets of Graywood Plantation subdivision has numerous cheering opportunities for friends and family.
• Water Stops: Multiple water stops and port-a-potties will be available along the course.
• After Party: Stay for free food provided by Bolton Ford, refreshments, fun/games, and music.

Age Requirement

The minimum age to register and participate in the Swamp Stomp Half Marathon is 14 years. A participant must be 14 years old by December 12, 2026 to register.

Route Description

• Half Marathon: A flat and fast course winding through Graywood Plantation community.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: An out and back course starting and finishing at the 1/2 marathon starting line.

Registration Fees

• Early Registration: $90 (February 1 - October 31)
• Standard Registration: $95 (November 1 - November 22, T-Shirt Deadline is November 22)
• Late Registration: $100 (November 23 - December 10)
• Last Minute Registration: $120 (*December 11 - 12, Online registration at packet pickup)

Packet Pickup

• Friday, December 11, 2026: House of Sole Running Shoes, 3113 Ryan St #3, Lake Charles, LA 70601 from 12pm to 5:45pm.
• Saturday, December 12, 2026: Graywood Plantation Park, 3861 Gray Market Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70605 from 6:00AM - 6:45AM.

Race Day Schedule

Half Marathon

• 6:00AM: Packet pickup and race day registration opens
• 6:30AM: Race day registration closes
• 6:50AM: Pre-race meeting
• 7:00AM: Half Marathon race begins

1 Mile Fun Run

• 6:00AM: Packet pickup and race day registration begins
• 7:10AM: Pre-race meeting
• 7:15AM: 1 Mile Fun Run begins
• 7:45AM: Firm cutoff for the 1 Mile Fun Run

Awards

• Half Marathon: Overall Male & Female, Top 3 in age groups 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• 1 Mile Fun Run: Overall Male & Female: all participants receive a finisher's medal.

T-shirts

Short sleeved performance shirts are provided to registered participants. Shirts are guaranteed for participants who registered prior to November 22, 2026. Shirts may be purchased without registration for $25 through November 22, 2026.

Finisher's Swag: Medal & Jacket

Medals & jackets are awarded to finishers. You must finish the race to receive your medal & jacket. Jackets will be available for pickup at the LAR tent near the finish area.

Cancellation Policy

When you register for this event, you are making a non-refundable, non-transferable purchase. No refunds, no deferrals, and no bib exchanges will be issued.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the Graywood Golf Club. No parking at the Graywood Racquet Club. Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking in subdivisions and on the streets.

Volunteers

Individuals wanting to volunteer can register on this website by clicking on "Volunteers" on the menu bar. Opportunities include race packet pickup, water spots, and post-race food service.
