Swamp Stomp Half Marathon & 1 Mile Fun Run

The Lake Area Runners presents the Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon and the 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

The race will start and finish at Graywood Park located at: 3861 Gray Market Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70605. This course through the streets of Graywood Plantation subdivision offers plenty of opportunities for your friends and family to cheer you on along the course! There will be multiple water stops and port-a-potties along the course. Stay for the after party! Free food provided by Bolton Ford, refreshments, fun/games, and music for all our runners and their families.

Eligibility

Minimum Age: 14 years old by December 12, 2026 to register.

Route Description

Half Marathon: The Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon is a flat and fast course that winds through most neighborhoods of the beautiful Graywood Plantation community south of Lake Charles.
Fun Run: Get the kids active with our 1 mile fun run! This will be an out and back course starting and finishing at the 1/2 marathon starting line.

February 1 - October 31: $90
November 1 - November 22: $95 (T-Shirt Deadline is November 22)
November 23 - December 10: $100
December 11 - 12: $120 (Online registration at packet pickup)

Finisher's Medal: All participants receive a finisher's medal. Age group awards are not offered for the 1 Mile Fun Run.

T-shirts

Short sleeved performance shirts are provided to registered participants. Shirts are guaranteed to those participants who registered prior to Sunday, November 22, 2026. Shirts may be purchased without registration for $25 through November 22, 2026. Click Store to purchase an additional shirt.

When you register for this event, you are making a non-refundable and non-transferable purchase.

No refunds, no deferrals, and no bib exchanges.
Lake Area Runners does not issue refunds if the event is cancelled due to circumstances out of our control.
For dangerous conditions that warrant cancellations, participants will be updated via email or through social media.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the Graywood Golf club. No parking at the Graywood Racquet Club. Due to limited parking available in subdivisions and on the streets, we ask you to carpool! Please Do Not Park on the Grass!

Volunteers

Individuals wanting to volunteer or organizations needing service hours, please register to volunteer on this website. Click on "Volunteers" on the menu bar to complete registration. We are a small board and can use as much help with this long race.
