Online registration closes Thursday, 3/12/2026 at midnight. After that time, you can still register in person on Saturday, 3/14/2026 at The Running Shop at Packet Pickup from 10am - 1pm, or on race morning up to 15 minutes prior to the start of the distance you want to run or walk. However, anyone registering in person on Saturday or Sunday will not immediately get a shirt. They will need to check in after running the 5K to inquire about remaining shirt availability.

As we reported earlier, the St. Patrick's Day Committee has recently announced that there will be no parade this year due to the ongoing construction at Armory Park and other factors. Since that time SAR has been looking into alternate locations to hold this event.

SAR is excited to announce we will hold this year's Desert Leprechaun race at Curtis Park. We are pleased to provide you with a safe, fast, tried and true 5K course that we've used multiple times for Dave's Run for ALS. We'll also have the traditional 1 Mile walk/run.

Our goal will be to keep this a St. Patrick's Day party, with a costume contest, lots of decorations, and St. Patrick's Day themed prizes. However, please note that the event will not have beer this year.

We definitely hope that the St. Patrick's Day Parade is back for 2027 and will keep you all updated on the status.

Also new this year, the 5K will be a part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix series!

Awards & Swag Include:

• The 5K will have male and female awards for Top 3 Overall, Top Masters, and Top 3 in 5 year age groups up to 80+. Awards will include Running Shop Gift Certificates and other St Paddy's Day themed goodies!
• All 5K registrants get a really cool, super-soft t-shirt while supplies last.
• All 5K finishers will get a super-cool finisher medal while supplies last.
• Costume contest with a special prize for the most fun costumes!
• Fun St. Patrick's Day related goodies for all!
