Dawg Gone Long Run 50k/50 Miler

Event Overview

DGLR50 IS PROUD TO BE TRAIL SISTERS APPROVED RACE.

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE: JUNE 20TH IS THE LAST DAY TO GUARANTEE YOUR RACE PREMIUMS.

START TIME: 6:30 AM FOR BOTH DISTANCES. NOTE: THIS IS A NEW START TIME!

Race Details

• Cup Policy: THIS IS A CUPLESS RACE! THERE WILL BE NO CUPS AT ANY AID STATIONS. YOU CAN PURCHASE A COLLAPSIBLE CUP FOR $4.
• Cutoff Time: EXTENDED CUTOFFS: 14.5 HOURS FOR BOTH EVENTS!
• Weather Advisory: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS CAN BE EXTREMELY HOT AS IT IS A SUMMER RACE.
• Distance Rule Change: We will no longer give a DNF to those who drop to the 50k mid-race.

Packet Pickup

• Pre-Race Pickup: Packet pick up the night before (July 10th) from 5:30 to 6:30 at the shelter at Caesar Creek Visitor Center.
• Race Day Pickup: Race morning packet pick up at 5:15.
• Location: Caesar Creek State Park, Start/Finish – Visitor Center 4020 N. Clarksville Road Waynesville, OH 45068-9408.
• Course Description: Some of the best single-track around Caesar Creek lake south of SR 73.

Course and Aid Stations

• Manned Aid Stations: Two manned aid stations: at start/finish and the Buckeye Way Shelter on the 50 Springs loop.
• Drop Bags: Drop bags are only at Visitor Center (Start/Finish) Aid Station.
• Refreshments: Aid stations will have Skratch, water, various snacks, and no cups available.
• Unmanned Stations: Unmanned stations will have water with no cups available.

Course Map

The course for both events will start near the Redbud Shelter near the Visitor Center off Clarksville Rd. Each loop will be on the Perimeter (Yellow) Trail plus the Cove (Red) Trail, the Peninsula (Green) Trail, and the Fifty Springs Loop (Orange) Trail.

50-mile: Will run the course counterclockwise 3 times.

50k: Will run the loop counterclockwise 2 times.

Additional Notes

• Litter Policy: Do not litter! Don’t drop any packets on the trail!
• Switching Distance: You can drop down from 50 miles to 50K at the end of two loops or prior to the start of the event.
• Cutoff Enforcement: Cutoffs will be strictly enforced for your safety!
• Sweeper Policy: We will begin slowly sweeping the course at 4:30 p.m. on race day.

Awards

The last official finisher of the 50 miler will get cool Tail of the Dawg award.
