Southcoast Health Cancer Care Nicole Podkowa 5k

Race Overview

We're thrilled to host the 9th Annual Southcoast Health Cancer Care Nicole Podkowa 5k. The race will take place at Southcoast Health Cancer Care in Fairhaven, MA at 9am on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Purpose

• Proceeds: Support the Nicole Podkowa Patient & Caregiver Fund.
• Assistance: Helps patients at Southcoast Health Cancer Care and their families with financial needs.
• Support Includes: Utility payments, food, housing, transportation, cancer-related supplies, and other necessities.

Virtual Participation

• Registration: Join virtually if you cannot attend in person.
• Location: Walk or run your 5k in your neighborhood, on a treadmill, or at a local park.
• Bibs: Virtual participants will not receive bib numbers for the in-person event.
• Encouragement: Invite friends and family to register and spread the word on social media.

Registration Details

• Online Registration: Open until 10/1/2026 at midnight EST.
• Day of Registration: Opens at 7:30am on 10/04/2026 at Southcoast Health Cancer Care.
• Cutoff: Registration closes on 10/3 for organizational purposes.
• Important Note: Do not register for the virtual race if planning to participate in person after 10/3.

Event Guidelines

• Cup-Free: This year's event will be cup-free: bring your own cup or water bottle.
• Water Stations: Available at the staging area and on the 5k course.
• Pet Policy: No dogs allowed for participant safety.
• Community Involvement: Looking for Community Committee Members, volunteers, and peer-to-peer fundraisers.
