July 4, 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To celebrate, the City of Palmdale and the High Desert Runners are hosting a 5k and a kid's K race at Sam Yellen Park. The cost of the 5k is only $25.00 and the Kid's K and 1/2 K races are only $15 !!
The 5k race will be professionally chip timed. There will be T-shirts and medals given to all participants while supplies last. There will be age group awards given in the 5k race for the following age groups:
0-12
13-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60+
Packet Pickup
- July 3rd: 5pm to 8pm at Legacy Commons for Active Seniors (930 East Avenue Q-9/ Palmdale CA 93550)
Pick up race packets on Friday, July 3 to be entered for a raffle prize! - July 4th (race morning): Beginning at 6:30am at Sam Yellen Park (5100 East Avenue S/ Palmdale CA. 93552)

- 8:00 am - Kid's 1/2 K Kids Red, White & Zoom Fun Run (ages 8 and under)
- 8:15 am - Kid's 1 K Kids Red, White & Zoom Fun Run (ages 8-12)
- 8:30 am - Stars, Stripes & Sneakers 5k Walk/Run
