GAF BEER MILE

🍻 Join Us for the GAF Beer Mile

Join us for the area's official Beer Mile event at the German American Festival. Participants will run a total of 1 mile and consume a total of 4 beers. Along with the beer mile event, we will also offer a mini mile. Each participant can choose to run a 1/2 mile, but consume 2 beers.

Your race entry fee includes your beers for the event, t-shirt, and festival entry.

🏃‍♂️ What is a Beer Mile?

• Format: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.
• Repeat: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.
• Continue: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.
• Finish: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.

Four beers, one mile.

🏃‍♀️ What is a Mini Beer Mile?

• Format: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.
• Repeat: Drink a beer, run a quarter mile.
• Distance: Two beers, half mile.

🕒 Tentative Schedule

We will offer heats throughout the day beginning at 2pm, and running every 15 minutes with the final wave running at 3:45pm.

Beer spots will be assigned when you pick up your bib on Sunday.

📝 Limited Registration is Available

• Pricing: The first 50 people to register will receive premium pricing.
• Capacity: There is a limit of 30 people per wave.

📜 Beer Mile Rules

• Structure: Each competitor drinks four cans of beer and runs four laps (start - beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
• Transition: Beer must be consumed before the lap is begun, within the transition area which is the 10 meter zone before the start/finish line.
• Consumption: Women also drink four beers in four laps.
• Beer Type: Competitors must drink canned beer and the cans should not be less than 355ml (the standard can volume) or 12oz (the imperial equivalent). The GAF Beer Mile will use Labatt Beer.
