Event Overview
- Fundraising Success: THE GIRLFRIENDS AND PINK BRIGADE HAVE RAISED OVER $900,000 OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS!
- Event Highlights: The 20th Annual Girlfriends Run offers a Half Marathon, 10K & 6K designed specifically for women.
- Purpose: The event encourages participants to do something good for themselves and to help support a very important women’s cause.
Inspiration Behind the Event
- Honor and Support: We started this event to honor and support one of our BFFs, Joleen Skarberg, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
- Community Participation: Joleen continues to run the event every year with her daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins and girlfriends!
- Special Recognition: Watch for her – she’ll be wearing #1!
Participation Style
- Mixed Participation: About half the gals run, half walk and many do a combination of running and walking.
- Accessibility: It doesn’t matter how you get to the finish line, as long as you get there!
