👟 2025 5K WALK!!!
We are excited to announce we will be making girlygirl PARTS 2025 5K a WALKING EVENT.
- Event Type: This will be a WALK ONLY event.
- Inclusivity: The event aims to be more welcoming for ALL participants!
- Cost Efficiency: Without a timing system, we can donate more to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
- Community Spirit: Walkers will enjoy each other’s energy by WALKING together in solidarity to fight ovarian cancer.
We hope this will encourage you to grab even more men, women and children to fight together to silence ovarian cancer by raising more awareness and money than any other year!
💪 LET'S KEEP PUSHING TOWARDS THE NEXT $1,000,000!!
This research affects women around the world, not just New England!
- Last Year's Success: LAST YEAR WE GOT OUR TOTAL DONATIONS OVER $1,000,000!!!
- Future Goal: LET'S CONTINUE ON THE ROAD TO THE NEXT $1,000,000 IN 2025!!!
- Support Needed: We need to raise money so that Dr. Matulonis and her team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute can continue their lifesaving research.
- Community Support: Our GGP Family has always risen to the occasion—we know you will take this and run with it!
HIGHEST FUNDRAISING TEAMS will be recognized once again this year. We will recognize our highest fundraising team with their team name on our GGP Rock. We will have extra awards this year for our TOP FIVE highest fundraising teams.
📖 GIRLYGIRL'S STORY:
girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. started simply as a discussion between two friends over a cup of coffee in March of 2009. Jill Di-Tommaso was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February of 2008. She and her wonderful friend, Laura Smith, have been dedicated to raising awareness about this devastating disease.
- Founders: Together they founded the girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer.
- Purpose: The funds raised go towards Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the research of a pre-screening tool for ovarian cancer.
- Legacy: Jill passed away on December 27, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
- Impact: Over the last 14 years, we are proud to say we have donated over $1,000,000 to the Ovarian Research Fund.
Dr. Ursula Matulonis is the medical director of gynecologic oncology.
C'mon out boys! Manly men run and walk with us for all the women in their lives.
