• Fast, Mostly Flat Course: A fast, mostly flat course that’s perfect for runners looking to begin the new year with a new personal record (PR) while welcoming walkers and runners of all experience levels.
• Competitive Awards: Overall Male Champion, Overall Female Champion, Masters Male Champion (40+), Masters Female Champion (40+), and Age Group Awards.
• Official Race Shirt: Participants registered by the shirt deadline are guaranteed an official Break Every Chain 5K race shirt.

Mission Statement

Every registration supports the mission of Homeless to Hopeful Corp., helping bring hope through mental health awareness, addiction recovery, homelessness outreach, and foster care initiatives.

Why We Run

The Break Every Chain 5K was inspired by the life of my brother, Julius Justin Burns.

• Inspiration: Justin struggled with mental health challenges and addiction for many years. His journey was filled with battles that many people never saw, but his life continues to inspire our mission every single day.
• Legacy: Today, Justin rests in Jesus, and his legacy lives on through every person who chooses hope over despair, healing over hopelessness, and compassion over judgment.
• Community Value: This race exists because we believe every person has value, every life matters, and no one should have to face life’s struggles alone.
• New Beginnings: As we begin a new year together, we celebrate new beginnings. Whether you’re breaking a personal record, breaking free from addiction, overcoming depression, finding hope after loss, or simply taking the next step forward in life, every mile represents the possibility of a new chapter.
