Grafton Run for the Roses 5K

🏅 Event Overview

• Date: Sunday, August 10, 2025
• Location: Grafton Lakes State Park, Route 2, 12 miles east of Troy, N.Y.
• 5K Race Start: 9:00 a.m.
• Kids’ 1 Mile Fun Run Start: 10:00 a.m.

🏞️ The Course

• 5K Course: Follows the Park Entrance Road, continues along Route 2, around the Town Park and back into the Park on Long Pond Road.
• Terrain: The first half of the course is downhill, with uphill slopes on the second half.
• Water Stations: Available near the half point.
• Finish Line: Race finishes under the Race Banner.

👶 The Kids’ Fun Run

• Start Location: Begins in the main parking lot.
• Course: Proceeds through the woods and along the beach.
• Finish Line: Fun Run finishes under the Race Banner.

• Women’s Record: Lori Hewig, 17:08, 1990

🎖️ Awards and Participation

• Participation Awards: Ribbons and books will be awarded to all runners and walkers.
• Time Clock: Running at the finish line for the convenience of participants.

🍉 Ceremonies and Amenities

• Awards Presentation: Immediately following the race at the finish line.
• Re-refreshments: Provided for participants.
• Showers: Located near the finish line.
• Facilities: The Park offers beach and picnic facilities – plan on staying all day!
