RTK Weekend

  • Weekend Challenge: Conquer the weekend by running Mt. Baldy Summit, the 10K Copper Harbor Trails Adventure, and the 25K COMA Run!
  • Awards: Special awards to the top 5 overall Male and Female finishers, Top U23 Male and Female finishers, Middle of the Pack Male and Female, and Finnish Sisu award.
  • Prizes: Tons of door prizes throughout the weekend.

Course Description

  • Mt. Baldy Hillclimb: Starts at the corner of Pine and Fourth St in Eagle Harbor and finishes at the peak of Mt. Baldy (Lookout Mountain) outside of Eagle Harbor. Return back to the base of the climb is on your own (no transportation provided).
  • Copper Harbor Trails: Both the Copper Harbor Trails Challenge and Carl Olson Memorial Adventure Run start and finish at the Grant Township Park in Copper Harbor.
  • 10K CHTC: Features Paul's Plunge, the Point Trail 1.0, and stunning harbor views along the Fort Wilkins rustic trails.
  • COMA Run: Utilizes most of the custom built singletrack on Brockway Mountain and the classic trails below the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge.

Strategy

  • Self-Supported: Mt. Baldy Hillclimb is self-supported. Carrying water is recommended regardless of the air temperature.
  • Aid Stations: Copper Harbor Trails Challenge and Carl Olson Memorial Adventure Run both provide aid stations along the course.

Awards

  • Individual Gifts: Special locally made gifts provided at each individual event to the top 3 finishers Male and Female in U20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+ age groups.
  • Overall Weekend Awards: For the top-5 fastest total time for Male and Female participants entering all 3 weekend events.
  • Young Guns Award: To the fastest total time Male and Female under 23 years old entering all 3 weekend events.
  • Joe and Jane Runner Award: To the total time closest to the average of all participants entering all 3 weekend events.
  • Sisu Award: To the longest total time of participants entering all 3 weekend events.
