Story of Benton

• Diagnosis: Jordan and Danny found out that their unborn son, Benton, had gastroschisis ─ a birth defect where a baby is born with their organs outside of their body.
• Care Journey: Benton underwent seven surgeries within the first week of life at Le Bonheur’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Homecoming: After 153 days in the NICU, Benton went home following successful surgery to close his abdomen.
• Local Support: Complications led Benton to receive care at the Le Bonheur Outpatient Center in Jackson, making follow-ups easier for the family.
