Event Overview

• Anniversary: Our 10th Annual Rail Trail 10K Race!
• Championship: The Road Runners Club of America Eastern Region 10K Championship!
• Start Time: 8 AM

The Course

• Scenic: 100% on the Rail Trail with no cars and no street crossings.
• Terrain: Flat and picturesque out-n-back running through Fall's natural beauty.
• Venue: New Haven / Northampton Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot.
• Address: 4340 Farmington Heritage Canal Trail, Hamden, CT 06518.

Plenty of parking in all Rail Trail lots plus on-street parking.

Poland Spring Water & Gatorade Endurance at Mile 2.4 and 3.6.

Custom awards to the top 3 Men and Women overall and in all 5 year divisions (from 5 years old to 80+).

Timing and Results

• Timing: Transponder Timing and Results with “Gun” and “Net” time. Awards based on gun time.
• Live Updates: Results will be live streaming and emailed and texted to you once you finish.

Cutoffs and Early Starts

• Cutoffs: There are no time cutoffs for this race.
• Early Starts: No early starts allowed.

The History

• 2017: Our inaugural Rail Trail 10K Race debuted.
• 2020: The race was cancelled due to Covid-19.
• 2021: We are back!
• 2023: We are the 10K State Championship for the Road Runners Club of America!
• 2026: Our 10th Anniversary and the Road Runners Club of America Eastern Region Championship Race!

Pricing Structure

• Early Registration: 10/19/2025 - 12/31/2025: $55.
• Regular Registration: 1/1/2026 – 10/1/2026: $60.
• In-Person Registration: 10/3/2026: $65 (Cash, Venmo, Checks made out to "CASH" only: No Cards on race day).

Transfer & Deferral Info

• Transfer: You may TRANSFER your registration to another athlete until 9/3/2026 for $25.
• Deferral: You may DEFER your entry to the 2026 Race until 9/3/2026 for $25.
• Deadline: THIS IS A HARD DEADLINE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Dawn is 6:23am, Sunrise is 6:51am

• 7:00am: Registration and Bib/Shirt Pickup Opens.
• 7:45am: Registration and Bib/Shirt Pickup Closes.
• 8:00am: Race Starts.
• 10:00am: Final Finishers & Venue Closed.

Parking

• Availability: Plenty of parking at all Rail Trail lots and on the street (where legal).
• Restrictions: No Parking at the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors Lot.
