Our 10th Annual Rail Trail 10K Race!

The Road Runners Club of America Eastern Region 10K Championship!

START TIME IS 8AM

THE COURSE

• Location: 100% on the Rail Trail with no cars and no street crossings.
• Terrain: Flat and picturesque out-n-back running through Fall's natural beauty.
• Venue: New Haven / Northampton Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot, 4340 Farmington Heritage Canal Trail, Hamden, CT. 06518
• Support: Poland Spring Water & Gatorade Endurance at Mile 2.4 and 3.6.

ENTRANT INFORMATION

• Shirts: Men's & Women's Cut Short Sleeve Tech T-shirts for all entrants.
• Medals: Gorgeous 3” Custom Finisher Medals! BEST 10K MEDAL IN CT! You will have a choice of Medal Color!
• Finish Line: Poland Spring Water & Gatorade Endurance at the finish line for Finishers.
• Results: Results are texted, emailed, and live streaming.

TIMING AND RESULTS

• Timing: Transponder Timing and Results with “Gun” and “Net” time. Awards based on gun time.
• Live Updates: Results will be live streaming and emailed and texted to you once you finish.

CUTOFFS AND EARLY STARTS

• Policy: There are no time cutoffs and no early starts for this race.

THE HISTORY

• 2017: Our inaugural Rail Trail 10K Race debuted with a large field of runners.
• 2020: The race was cancelled due to Covid19.
• 2021: We are back!
• 2023: We are the 10K State Championship for the Road Runners Club of America!

PRICING STRUCTURE

• Early Bird: 10/19/2025 - 12/31/2025: $55.
• General Registration: 1/1/2026 – 10/1/2026: $60.
• Race Day: 10/3/2025: $65 In-Person Registration (Cash, Venmo, Checks only).

TRANSFER & DEFERRAL INFO

• Transfer: You may TRANSFER your registration to another athlete until 9/3/2026 for $25.
• Deferral: You may DEFER your entry to the 2026 Race until 9/3/2026 for $25.
• Deadline: THIS IS A HARD DEADLINE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

RACE DAY

• Date: Saturday 10/3/2026. Dawn is 6:23am, Sunrise is 6:51am.
• Schedule: 7:00am: Registration and Bib/Shirt Pickup Opens, 8:00am: Race Starts.
• Location: New Haven / Northampton Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot.
• ID Required: Bring photo ID.

PARKING

• Availability: Plenty of parking at all of the Rail Trail lots and on the street (where legal).
• Restrictions: No Parking at the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors Lot.
