Lace up your sneakers, lean forward and get ready for the 13th Annual Tear Drop Half Marathon! If you’re looking for a fast and scenic half marathon then join us on Sunday, April 25, 2027!

Course Details

• Elevation: Starts on top of Fort Mountain at an elevation near 3000 feet.
• Course Drop: Over 2000-foot drop for the Half Marathon.
• Certification: All courses (13.1, 10K, 5K) are USAT&F certified.
• Finish Location: Finishes in beautiful City Park, Chatsworth.

Race Extras

• Finishers Medals: Beautiful CUSTOM medals for all event finishers.
• T-shirts: Every participant will receive a short sleeve t-shirt.
• Post-Race Amenities: Live music, hot food, cold drinks: beer for participants 21 and over.
• Raffle Prizes: Great raffle prizes for all participants!

Race Schedule

• Start Times: 7:30 am for the Half, 8:05 am for 10K, 8:15 am for the 5K.
• Parking: Runners park at the finish and are shuttled to their race start location.
• Facility Availability: Permanent bathrooms available behind the stage at City Park.
• Drop Off: Half runners can get dropped off at their start on Fort Mountain.

Registration Details

• Registration: No morning of race registration. Must sign up online by Saturday or before it sells out.
• Pick-Up Times: Saturday, 4/24 from 2 pm until 5 pm: Sunday 4/25 from 6:00 am-7:00 am for Half and 7-8 am for 10K/5K.
• Dinner Discounts: Little Rome Pasta offers 10% off dinner with bib#.
• Transfers: Change distances online until midnight 4/25 or in person during pick-up.

Logistical Information

• Shuttle Service: Buses making round trips from City Park to Fort Mountain starting at 6:00 am.
• Safety: Follow instructions and stay to the right side of the cones on Highway 52.
• SAG Vehicle: A passenger vehicle will follow the last runner for support.
• Water Stops: Four water stations for the Half, two for the 10K, and one for the 5K.

Awards and Recognition

• Finishers Medal: All finishers will receive a beautiful medal.
• Age Group Awards: Awards for the Half, 10K, and 5K participants.
• Overall Winners: Plaques for top male/female and masters male/female in the Half Marathon.
• Photographs: TrueSpeed Photos will provide downloadable pictures.

Food, Drink, and Entertainment

• Food: Hot dogs, veggie dogs, salty snacks, fruit, and bottled water.
• Beer Availability: Cold beer for participants 21 and over.
• Live Music: Enjoy music from 9 am-11 am during recovery in the park.
• Charity Partner: Murray Arts Council, supporting local arts with volunteer efforts.

Important Notes

If you plan to have someone drop you off at the start of the half marathon only (in front of the Overlook Inn), they can do so between 6:30-7:15 am but must leave immediately to avoid congestion. No personal drop off for 10K or 5K as they are at precarious points on the mountain road.
