Canya Cañon Trail Race & Hike

4 Mile Course Event Details

• Race Day: Sunday, November 8th
• Start Time: 11:00am: Bib pick-up starts at 10:15am
• Course: Same course as last year (original 4-mile course that runs the length of the Columbine Trail).
• Timing: This course will be chip timed by Pikes Peak Road Runners.

Course Details

• Start Point: Participants will start at Starsmore and run up Columbine Trail to the Powell parking lot.
• Return Shuttle: Adventures Out West will shuttle participants back to Starsmore.
• Pets: Well behaved and leashed pets are allowed! However, pets are not allowed in the Adventures Out West Jeeps.
• Transportation: Participants must hike or run back down after finishing or arrange their own transportation.

Beneficiary Details

• Proceeds: ALL PROCEEDS benefit the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon.
• Mission: To preserve the natural resources of North Cheyenne Cañon Park.
• Funding: Raise funds and sponsor park improvements, enrichment programs, community events, and opportunities for citizen and visitor involvement.

Registration & Entry Fees

• Race Day Registration: 10:15am. Online registration is preferred.
• Early Bird Individual: $40
• Early Bird Family: $75 (3-6 people)
• Starting Oct. 1: Individual: $45: Family: $80

Cupless Race Reminder

• Water Bottles: Please bring your own water bottle(s).
• Water Stations: There will be a water station at the spur to Gold Camp Road on Upper Columbine Trail (about 2.5 miles into the race).
• Finish Line: Water will also be available at the finish line.

Parking

• Parking Lots: Available in any of the parking lots near Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center.
• Overflow Parking: Available in the dirt parking lot on Mesa Ave just west of Evans Ave.

Restrooms

• Facilities: Restrooms will be available inside the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center.
• Portable Toilets: Available at the finish line in the Powell parking lot.

Awards

• Custom Awards: The top 3 overall male and female participants will receive a custom award.
• Age Group Awards: Top male and female in each age group (10 year increments) will receive a custom reward.
• Fun Awards: Fun awards will be handed out as well!
• Participant Gifts: All participants will receive a 2x4 painting.

Giveaway

• Sun Hoodies: Only available to the first 100 participants to register.
• Size Availability: Please sign up soon to get one as if you sign up after October 10, you may not get the size you need!

2.5 Mile Course Event Details

• Race Day: Sunday, November 8th

• New Route: This is an out and back course beginning and ending at Starsmore.
• Turnaround Point: Participants will run up Columbine Trail to the Mid Columbine parking lot.

• Timing: This course will NOT be chip timed.
• Pets: Well behaved and leashed pets are allowed!

2.5 Mile Race Location

• Start Point: Participants will start at Starsmore Visitor & Nature Center.
