The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) is a 501c (3) non-profit organization committed to honoring veterans past, present and future.

🏃‍♂️ Run to Remember

The goal of the Run to Remember is to bring our community together on Memorial Day weekend to honor those who died in the defense of our country. The Run to Remember is a 3-mile run/walk through the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial grounds, a landmark veterans memorial located off of Interstate 81 in Hampden Township, Pennsylvania.

💰 Proceeds and Impact

• Support Programs: Proceeds from the event will go towards funding the committees’ programs including direct assistance to Pennsylvania National Guard service members and their families.
• Scholarships: The funds will also help provide scholarship opportunities for local High School Seniors.
• Community Engagement: The committee’s commitment includes the continued expansion and enhancement of the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the central Pennsylvania community.
• Honoring Veterans: The committee holds several events per year to honor veterans and our military such as National Vietnam Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day, and Pearl Harbor Day.

After the Run to Remember, please join us at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the Township’s annual Memorial Day Service at 11 am.
