The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) is a 501c (3) non profit organization committed to honoring veterans past, present and future.

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The goal of the Run to Remember is to bring our community together on Memorial Day weekend to honor those who died in the defense of our country. The Run to Remember is a 3-mile run/walk through the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial grounds, a landmark veterans memorial located off of Interstate 81 in Hampden Township, Pennsylvania.

💰 Event Proceeds

• Funding: Proceeds from the event will go towards funding the committees’ programs including direct assistance to Pennsylvania National Guard service members and their families.
• Scholarships: Opportunities for local High School Seniors.
• Memorial Enhancement: Continued commitment to expand and enhance the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the central Pennsylvania community.
• Community Events: The committee holds several events per year that bring the community together to honor veterans and our military including National Vietnam Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day.

🕖 Race Day Information

• Registration: Race day registration starts at 7am.
• Race Start: The race will kick off at 8:45am.

🕊️ Memorial Day Service

After the Run to Remember, please join us at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the Township’s annual Memorial Day Service at 11 am.
