HTVRC Run To Remember

Event Overview

The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) is a 501c (3) non-profit organization committed to honoring veterans past, present, and future.

Run to Remember

• Purpose: The goal of the Run to Remember is to bring our community together on Memorial Day weekend to honor those who died in the defense of our country.
• Course: The Run to Remember is a 3-mile run/walk through the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial grounds, a landmark veterans memorial located off of Interstate 81 in Hampden Township, Pennsylvania.
• Date: The race will take place on May 23, 2026.
• Registration: Race day registration starts at 7 am. The race will kick off at 8:45 am.

Impact of Proceeds

• Funding: Proceeds from the event will go towards funding the committee's programs including direct assistance to Pennsylvania National Guard service members and their families.
• Scholarships: The funds will also support scholarship opportunities for local High School Seniors.
• Community Memorial: The continued commitment to expand and enhance the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the central Pennsylvania community.
• Community Events: The committee holds several events per year to honor veterans and our military including National Vietnam Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day, and Pearl Harbor Day.

• Memorial Day Service: After the Run to Remember, please join us at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the Township’s annual Memorial Day Service at 11 am.
