My Best Day 5K and Kids' Dash

Event Overview

My Best Day 5K and Kids Dash is a fundraiser for the Jake Arntson Memorial Fund. Please join us as we celebrate the life and memory of Jake, as well as other local children and adults that have left us too soon. As we honor these families with their loved ones on Angel Avenue, we are raising funds for the Jake Arntson Teammate of the Year Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to CMR, GFHS, and St. Patrick's Academy student-athletes that have displayed the qualities of being the best teammate.

Registration Information

• Online Registration: Ends at midnight on September 19th.
• Same-Day Registration: Available starting at 11:30 at West Bank Park.

Event Schedule

• Welcome and Warm-Ups: Begin at 12:45 where we will honor our Angels on Angel Avenue, sing the National Anthem and hear America the Beautiful.
• Kids Dash: Will begin at 1:00. We will gather at the Branch Brady statue at West Bank Park for a picture.
• Races Offered: One lap (¼ mile) or two laps (½ mile). Kids are welcome to participate in either one or both.
• Prizes: The first boy and first girl to cross the finish line of the two laps (1/2 mile) will win a new bike donated by Scheels.

5K Race Details

• Start Time: My Best Day 5K will begin at 1:40 and is all on the River's Edge Trail, looping around the river.
• Course Description: At 1:30 participants will stage at the finish line of the Kids Dash at West Bank Landing and walk down Angel Avenue to the starting line at the Federal Courthouse.
• Course Route: You will cross over the Central Avenue walking bridge, continue on the River's Edge Trail towards Gibson Park, and cross River Road at a designated manned spot.
• Finish Line: The race continues towards the 9th Street Bridge before finishing at West Bank Park. There will be a water/aid station at the half-way point.
