2026 Cape Breton Fiddlers Marathon

Race Overview

• Location: Cape Breton, along Sydney's waterfront.
• Course: Flat, paved course running along Sydney's downtown waterfront.
• Qualification: Boston Marathon qualifying race.
• Musicians: Cape Breton's talented musicians provide encouragement along the way.

Event Schedule

• Expo: October 17th at Victoria Park from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
• Race Kit Pickup: At Victoria Park between 1:00-5:00 p.m.
• Registration Closure: Online registration closes on October 16th at midnight.
• On-site Registration: Available during the expo from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Important Information

• Registration Note: Registrations cannot be deferred and are non-refundable.
• Timing: Professionally timed by Atlantic Chip Sport Timing.
• Dog Policy: Non-service dogs are prohibited from participating in the race.
• Series: The Full and 5k are part of the Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series.

Race Details

• Half Marathon: Part of the Run Nova Scotia Performance Series.
• Time Limit: Six hours, no race support after 2:00 p.m.
• Start Times on October 18th, 2026:
• Marathon start time: 8:00 a.m.
• Half marathon start time: 8:50 a.m.
• 10k start time: 8:20 a.m.
• 5k start time: 8:40 a.m.
