Leif's Run

Event Overview

• Race Options: Leif's Run offers a 10K, 5K, and 2-mile fun run.
• Date: The race is held as part of the Leif Erikson Festival on October 10, 2026.

Registration and Check-in

• Check-in Time: Race day registration takes place from 7:30-8:30 am in the basement of the City Hall.
• Parking: Parking is available on side streets.
• Awards Ceremony: Awards handed out at 10:30 in the City Band Shell next to the City Hall.
• Course Closure: The course will close at 11:00 to open for festival traffic.

Race Details

• Timing: The race will be chip-timed, with receipts provided by Tortoise and Hare Timing of Arbor Vitae, WI.
• Race Gear: Participants will receive long-sleeve shirts featuring the Viking logo.
• Course Highlights: The updated course starts in Downtown Norway, showcasing scenic views of Strawberry Lake and the Norway Spring.
• Awards: Prizes for top finishers in each category and the BEST costume for all races!

Festival Activities

• Post-Race Fun: Music in the City Band Shell beginning at 11:00.
• Festival Attractions: Food vendors, Viking reenactments, fine art show, and more.
• Special Events: Crowning of Miss Norway and a parade at 3:00.
• Evening Gathering: Walk for the Viking funeral pyre at Strawberry Lake Park gathering at 6:45.

Runner Perks

• Viking Bucks: All race participants will receive $5 in Viking Bucks as part of their registration.
• Local Participation: Viking Bucks can be used at participating Norway businesses.
