Are you ready to cross the stream?!

Fall is awesome! Join us for the 9th edition of the Mactaquac Trail Race in beautiful Mactaquac Provincial Park, October 3 & 4, 2026.

Race Details

• Trails: There is a variety of trails, both single and double track.
• Distances: We have a 5K, 10K and a 20K, so you just pick the distance you like.
• Course: Although the course is not very hilly, it is hardly ever flat. You will cross a stream twice and a number of bridges.
• Caution: It can be slippery and roots might be sticking out here and there, so always keep one eye on the trail!

New for 2026

• 5K Race: New for this year's MTR is a 5K race on Saturday, October 3, 2026!
• Awards: The 5K will take place after the kids run; there will be awards for numbers 1-3 both male and female.
• Entry: This event is especially good for beginning trail runners, but obviously anyone can participate!
• Fee: The fee is much lower than the Sunday events; there will be no draw prizes or electronic timing (timing is manual).

Registration

• No Day-of Registration: There is NO registration on the day of the race!
• Deadline: Online registration will go through Race Roster and will end on Thursday, October 2 by 8pm!
• Transfer Period: There will NOT be a waiting list once the race is sold out, but a transfer period will open up.
• No Refunds: There will be NO refunds or deferrals, but transfers will be available as soon as the race is sold out!

Event Features

• Low-Key Event: We try to keep this event low-key, so a low entry fee and no shirts or medals.
• Swag: You will get your swag and there will be lots of draw prizes (only on Sunday events)!
• Cup-Less: We will again be (nearly) cup-less; please provide your own cup, bottle, bladder, etc.
• Massages: Massages will be provided by the massage therapy students of Eastern College from 9 to noon on Sunday!

Course Map

There is no map of the course, but there will be some reconnaissance runs of the course in the weeks/months prior to the race. Join them to find out what you will experience in October. They will be announced on the race's Facebook page.

Post-Race Activities

• After the Race: There will be food and drink, awards and draw prizes.
• Draw Prizes: In the past 8 years, everyone got a draw prize. We will do our best to get as many draw prizes as possible.
• Kids Run: On Saturday, October 3 a free Kids run will be held at the small parking lot next to the Beaver Pond.
• Registration: Registration for the Kids run will be on-site, not online!
