Welcome to the 6th Annual Chicagoland BE A HERO Fun Run & Walk

Join us on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for a family-friendly community event dedicated to celebrating those living with metastatic breast cancer, honoring the Heroes we have lost, and funding research that brings hope for more tomorrows.

This is more than a walk. It is an opportunity to stand beside our Thrivers, remember our Heroes, and invest in research that can create better treatments, longer lives, and more time with the people we love.

Event Information

• Date: Sunday, September 20, 2026
• Location: Settlers’ Park, Plainfield, Illinois
• Check-In Begins: 11:00 AM
• Hero Launch and Fun Run/Walk: Noon
• Distance: Family-friendly one-mile Fun Run and Walk
• Costumes: Creativity is encouraged, but never required.

Why We Walk

Every day, people living with metastatic breast cancer continue to choose courage, hope, and life. This year, we proudly celebrate Thrivers who have been living with metastatic breast cancer for 7, 9, and nearly 10 years, along with others who continue to fight through treatment every day.

Their courage reminds us why research matters. Research has helped make these milestones possible, and continued funding is essential to creating more treatment options and more tomorrows. Every registration, sponsorship, donation, volunteer, and shared post helps move metastatic breast cancer research forward.

There is currently no cure for metastatic breast cancer, but research is changing lives. Every dollar raised helps support the search for:
