Krampus 5K and Walk

• Location: Utica Maennerchor Club, 5535 Flanagan Rd, Marcy, NY 13403
• Activities: 5K run and 1 mile walk

Race Description

• Tradition: According to German Folklore, Saint Nicholas rewards good children with sweets and gifts while Krampus punishes the misbehaved.
• Course: This is an out and back course starting from the Maennerchor, up to the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus, finishing back at the club.
• Objective: See who can complete the race without getting caught by Krampus to ensure St. Nicholas visits this Christmas!
• Post-Race: Enjoy a fun post-race party inside the Utica Maennerchor.

Registration Details

• Preregistration: $25.00 + registration fee if registered before November 14, 2026. Preregistered participants will receive a Krampus winter hat.
• Day of Registration: 8:30 - 9:30 AM for $30.00.

About the Utica Maennerchor

• History: Established 161 years ago in 1865, it is one of the last surviving institutions of a vibrant German immigrant community.
• Mission: The charter promotes charitable efforts and the study of German language and culture while fostering German-American singing.
• Concerts: Hosts concerts featuring songs in both German and English, contributing to community organizations like Maynard Volunteer Fire Department and others.
