The 4th Annual Rugby Run 5k

Event Overview

• What: A 5k run and a 1-mile fun walk to benefit the Downingtown Rugby Club and All 4 Paws Rescue.
• Date: Sunday, October 4th at 10:00 am.
• Registration: Opens at 9:00 am.
• Rain Date: Rugby players run in the rain, we prefer it!!

About the Downingtown Rugby Football Club

• Mission: A non-profit sports organization dedicated to playing, developing, and promoting rugby in the Downingtown Area for everyone from Grades K through 12.
• Community Engagement: Helps expand the fastest-growing sport in the USA through local family and youth involvement.
• History: Founded in 1996 to attract student-athletes to a team-oriented environment with a focus on sportsmanship and excitement.
• Cultural Support: Offers a welcoming, supportive culture that improves rugby skills and strengthens youths’ sense of self, discipline, and drive.

Club Operations

• Volunteers: Managed by an all-volunteer group of parents, former players, and rugby enthusiasts.
• Cost Management: Keeps costs low so all kids, regardless of socioeconomic background, can experience rugby.
• Funding: Covers equipment, uniforms, insurance, coaches' training, medical staff, referees, and field rentals for matches and practices.
• Support for Youth: Aims to strengthen the community and provide valuable life skills through sport.
