On Sunday, January 10, 2027, thousands of runners, walkers, families, first responders, community members, and friends of Altadena will come together to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Eaton Fire—and celebrate the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of this community. ABOUT THE ALTADENA FOREVER RUN
The Altadena Forever Run was created in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire as a way to bring our community together—to remember what was lost, honor those who were impacted, celebrate the extraordinary resilience of Altadena, and support its recovery. The Run is held in partnership with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Athletic Association (LASAA) who is providing race logistical support and who hosts annual station Mug Runs, and the Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena (SSGA). The Mug Run series began in 1993 as a small event primarily for law enforcement personnel and has grown over the years to welcome the broader community. Each year, LASAA partners with Sheriff’s stations throughout Los Angeles County, with each station bringing its own community, traditions, and purpose to its Run.

THE COURSES

5K
Extending into the lower foothill neighborhoods east of Lake Avenue, the 5K brings runners and walkers through streets lined with volunteers and cheering residents—each voice a testament to Altadena’s unity, renewal, and pride. 

10K
The full 10K follows the 5K route, offering spectacular views of the San Gabriel Mountains before returning toward the historic Mariposa business district. The course then turns west, guiding participants past neighborhoods in various stages of rebuilding—a moving portrait of perseverance, where homes under construction stand as symbols of endurance and hope. The Run passes Charles White Park before finishing triumphantly back on Mariposa Street.

  
1K FAMILY RUN/WALK
Kids 10 and under participate FREE in the 1K Family Run/Walk!
Starting at El Molino Avenue and heading west past the Altadena Library before looping back to Mariposa Street, this short, joyful course is perfect for families and children to share in the spirit of the day.
