The Pickle Run

Event Overview

Huc-a-poos and the Hall family invite you to the 18th annual Pickle Run to support our local Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire!

Eighteen years ago, despite a healthy pregnancy, our son was so sick at birth the doctors weren’t sure he would survive his first night. Two days later on Thanksgiving Day, we could hold our baby boy for the first time. As he continued to improve in the hospital, our family discovered how lucky we were to live in Savannah where the level of care he required was down the street. Many of the families had to drive long distances to visit their children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery. This is where the Ronald McDonald House® comes in. Established in 1987, the Savannah Ronald McDonald House has provided a “home away from home” for thousands of families. The House has 13 bedrooms with private baths, a communal living room and kitchen, dining and laundry areas. Each night volunteers provide a home-cooked meal for the families to share. As our son's first birthday approached and each year since, our family gets together with the Huc-a-poos family to celebrate, give thanks and raise funds for this important organization in our community!

Event Details and Schedule

• What: 5k beach & road run or walk
• Where: Starts and ends at HUC-A-POO’S, 1213 E. Highway 80, Tybee Island
• When: 8:00 am on Saturday, Nov. 28 (Packet pick-up begins at 7:00 am)
• Why: All proceeds benefit our local Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire

Post-Race Celebration

Celebration following at HUC-A-POO’S for Prizes, Raffle & Pizza

Registration Information

• Cost: $35 through 11/11, $40 after
• Limit: Limited to 200 online registrations only - NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS
• Includes: Event t-shirt (not guaranteed after 11/11), 1 raffle ticket and HUC-A-POO’S breakfast pizza
