About this race
Event Overview
The Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency and Board of Supervisors invites you to the 14th Annual Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund 5K Race and children’s Fun Run.
- Date: 2026-11-07
- Location: Fort Hardy Park, Schuylerville, NY
- Course: Relatively flat and fast along the historic tow path and Hudson River.
- Refreshments: Enjoy post-race refreshments and hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the Saratoga County American Legion Posts.
Kids Fun Run
There will be a shorter distance kids fun run directly following the 5k. There is no charge for this event.
- Registration: Only children who intend to run the full 5K race need pay the registration fee.
Awards
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Top Runners: Awards to the top 5 open male and female runners.
- Masters Awards: Awards to the top 3 Masters (over 40) male and female runners.
- Age Group Awards: Awards in 5 year age increments for top Male and Female.

Join us for a great run for a great cause. Proceeds benefit the Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund.

Course History
The 5k running course takes you past the Champlain Canal Lock C5 in Hudson Cross Park.
- Historical Event: In 1777, British General John Burgoyne crossed the river here with soldiers to engage American forces.
- Significance: This event led to the Battles of Saratoga, a turning point in the American Revolutionary War.
Commemoration
We are excited to join with the Saratoga County 250th Commission to celebrate this historic site.
- 250th Anniversary: Commemorating the Battles at Saratoga, "America's Turning Point."
- Commission: Composed of 13 official members recognizing the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution.
