About this race
When is the Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K?
The 2027 Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2027.
What time does the race start?
- Half Marathon: 7:00 am
- 5K: 7:15 am
Where does the race start and finish?
The race starts in front of the water tower on Tallapoosa Street and finishes in The Riverwalk Stadium. The starting line will be on the corner of Tallapoosa Street and Coosa Street.
Where can I park?
- Parking availability: Downtown is filled with plenty of parking.
- Meters: The meters will be turned OFF so you can park at the ones that do NOT have a sign.
- Parking decks: Available and within walking distance from the start and finish lines.
Is there an age requirement to run?
- Half Marathon: Must be 17 or older on race day.
- Parental consent: If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver to participate.
- 5K: Open to all ages.
Do I get a medal?
Yes. Half marathon and 5K FINISHERS will get a medal.
Do I get an age group medal?
- Placement: Yes, but only if you placed.
- Medal collection: Must be present to receive it, or a friend can collect it on your behalf.
- Unclaimed medals: Medals not claimed will be at Fleet Feet Montgomery. We will not mail medals to you.
Will there be an Athena and Clydesdale division?
No.
Are the races chip timed?
Yes, runners will be chipped from start to finish. There will be a gun start (everybody will have the same start time) and a chip finish.
Is there a time limit to complete the Half?
- Overall limit: There will be a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon (18:19 minute mile pace).
- Publishing times: For the half, we will record and publish times up to 4 hours and 5 minutes.
- Finality: After that time, no runner will be counted as an official finisher of the race, and the finish line timing equipment will be removed.
Checkpoint limits:
- 5-Mile mark: Anyone slower than 1 hour and 35 minutes.
- 10-Mile mark: Anyone slower than 3 hours and 10 minutes.
- Waiver: If you do not reach these checkpoints, you will be picked up. If you choose to continue, you must sign a waiver.
Can I switch races?
Switching from the half to the 5K is only allowed at Friday Packet Pick-Up. Please let them know you’d like to switch, and they’ll give you a 5K bib instead of a half bib. However, no refund will be given.

When you register, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not see it, check your SPAM folder.
