Northeast MS Alcorn State 5K Run for Scholars

Mission

• Purpose: The Northeast MS Alcorn State 5K Run for Scholars' mission is to raise funds to provide scholarships for students from Northeast MS to attend Alcorn State University.
• Support: Your support will ensure these students will have the additional funds needed to attend college.
• First Generation: Many of these students are first generation students entering college and will need as much support from you as possible.
• Call to Action: Let’s Make It Happen!

Health and Wellness Fair

• Event: In addition, there will be a Health and Wellness Fair held in conjunction with the 5K Run at Fair Park.
• Activities: We intend to have the following: Blood Drive, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Screening, COVID Screening and Vaccinations.

Prizes and Awards

• Overall Categories: Prize money will be awarded in the following Overall categories: 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $50 and 3rd Place $25 for the Run, Walk, and Wheelchair competition.
• Age Group Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place age group winners will receive awards.

Virtual Race Option

• Participation: The virtual race option is for those who are not able to participate in person.
• Monitoring: We are pleased to offer RACEJOY to monitor our virtual race.
• Results: Separate results will be provided for virtual runners: however, there will be no awards for virtual participants.
