Event Overview

• Join Us: Please join us for the 44th Annual Newtown 5K! Please bring a canned-good or non-perishable item to help stock the food pantry at IPM (Inter-Parish Ministries). Thanks!

Location

• Venue: Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, OH.
• Organizer: Organized by Turpin Cross Country, https://newtown5krun.com

Course Details

• Distance: 3.1 miles over residential streets. Relatively flat.
• Support: Splits at every mile. First aid and water on the course.
• Start/Finish: Begins and ends at Moundview Park. Scroll down for course map.

Divisions

• Running Divisions: Male and female runners for ages 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
• Walking Divisions: Male and female walkers for ages 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.
• Walker Start: Walkers will have a separate start. No running allowed.

Corporate and School Team Competitions

• Corporate Teams: A separate award for the corporate team competition. Top 3 finishers will score based on total team time.
• Team Sponsorship: A corporate team sponsorship of $200 will cover a maximum of seven runners including T-shirts.
• School Teams: Returning for 2026 - Represent your school. Top 5 finishers will score.

Awards

• Overall Awards: Special awards to the overall male and female runner and walker, and first Newtown male and female runner and walker.
• Age Group Awards: Given to top male and female finishers in all run and walk divisions.
• Ceremony: Awards Ceremony after the race.

Kids Fun Run

• Admission: Fun Run - Free kids fun runs after the 5K. No advanced signup necessary.
• Course Distances: Kids 5 and under will race across the field: elementary kids will race approximately 1000m around the park.

Results

• Posting: Race results will be posted online at www.Runningtime.net following the race.

Chip Timing

• Timing Method: This year's race will be chip timed with Ipico shoe tags (chips).
• Tag Requirement: You must have a tag to receive a time. To receive a time, you must attach the shoe tag to your shoe.
• Tag Collection: Tags are re-usable and will be collected at the finish line.

Registration Costs

• Pre-Registration: Online pre-registration is $30 until August 2, 2026: $35 after that.
• Corporate Sponsorship: A corporate team sponsorship of $200 includes seven runners and T-shirts.
• Late Registration: Available from August 3 through race day for $35.
• Note: All registrations for 2026 will be done online - including race day.

T-Shirts

• Cost: Race t-shirts are available for $10 while supplies last.

Check-in and Packet Pickup

• Early Check-in: Tri State Running Company, 7433 Wooster Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45227 on August 6 and August 7.
• Race Day Check-in: From 7:00 am - 8:15 am at Moundview Park.

Parking and Directions

• Parking: You can park in the field at the park. Road leading to the park will be closed at 8:15 a.m.
• Directions: Moundview Park, 45244: Route 50 or Route 32 to South on Church/Newtown Road. Additional options are available, including at St. John Fisher Church.

Donations

• Canned Goods: Once again, we will be collecting canned goods for Inter Parish Ministries in Newtown.
