WELCOME!
We are excited to present the 7th Annual Crystal Lake Half Marathon & 12K on Sunday, September 5, 2027.
Race Details
- Location: 300 Lakeshore Drive, Crystal Lake, IL
- Start Times: 7:30 AM for Half Marathon, 8:00 AM for 12K (7.44 miles)
- Course: The Half Marathon starts at Main Beach: the 12K starts just up a few yards from the Half start.
- Post-Race: Celebration at the finish line with access to various food and beverage options.
Course Highlights
- Scenic Route: Enjoy views of Crystal Lake, Lippold Park, and the Dole Mansion.
- Finish Line: Located in downtown Crystal Lake.
- Transportation: Free bus service to the start line.
- Amenities: Warm-up areas and water stations every 1.5 miles.
Other Important Information
- Restrooms: Available at start, Mile 5, Mile 11, and Finish Line.
- Water & Fueling: Gatorade available at Miles 7.5, 9, 10.5, and 12.
- First Aid: Available throughout the course with EMS on-site.
- Course Markings: Clear arrows and course marshals will guide runners.
Packet Pick-Up Information
Packet pick-up will occur during race week from September 3rd to September 5th. Please see the race's official website for specific times.
Race Day Schedule
- 8:30 AM: Depot Park opens for spectators.
- 9:00 AM: First racers finish the race.
- 10:30 AM: Awards ceremony starts.
- After Party: Enjoy food from local vendors and beer from Crystal Lake Brewing.
Kids Run This Town
Do you have an elementary aged kiddo who loves to run!? Here's their chance to run their own Half Marathon! This 4 week program challenges kids to run 12 miles over 4 weeks with a running buddy. On race day of the Crystal Lake Half Marathon, they run their 13th mile and earn their Half Marathon finisher medal.
