Green Bank Turkey Trot 10 K Trail Run, 5 K Run/Walk, 1K Gobble Wobble-- Hybrid Event!

Welcome! These are really fun races in such a cool location. Thank you for registering! Please note:

• You MUST register by November 20 to be guaranteed a t-shirt!! (It's Thanksgiving week and t-shirt makers like to take some time off too!)
• If you are participating remotely, we will charge $10/family for postage to mail you your shirt(s).
• Online registration after November 20 and on site registration will be $30.00 for 5K and 10K this year.
• Gobble Wobble Registration is $18.00. Register by November 20 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Registration after November 20 is $22.00

• NEW in 2026: Pocahontas County residents who select the virtual trot option do NOT need to add shipping. We will organize a shirt pick-up for you

• All races begin and end at the Green Bank Science Center on the Green Bank Observatory campus.
• The 10K trail run begins at 1:00 PM and features a fun mix of flats and hills with fields and wooded single track, offering behind-the-scenes views of new and historic telescopes and nature areas.
• The Gobble Wobble 1 K is for kids 8 and under! The Wobble will start at 1:15 PM and will feature a fun obstacle course. Prizes will be available -age groups decided the day of!
• The 5K course begins at 1:30 and follows paved site roads for the most part. Short sections are on well groomed trails. While you race, you will have a great view of our telescopes including the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT), the world's largest fully steerable single aperture antenna!
• Age divisions for both runs are: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over. First and second place awards for each division.
• Water station will be located at the half-way point for the course.
• An awards ceremony and post-race grinds and fellowship will finish out your afternoon!
