Race Overview

The City of Brigantine and Green Whales, Inc are proud to present the 2027 Brigantine Beach Triathlon. Every year since its inception, the race has benefited various entities on Brigantine Beach including:

• Polar Bear Plunge: An annual event supporting local charities.
• Brigantine Rams: Community youth sports organization.
• Marine Mammal Stranding Center: A crucial facility for marine wildlife.
• Brigantine Community School: Supporting local education initiatives.

Community Involvement

Local agencies play a vital role in ensuring the race's success:

• Emergency Services: Includes Police, Fire, and EMS, ensuring safety on race day.
• Administrative Support: Department of Public Works and the Department Of Emergency Management are involved.
• State and Federal Support: NJ State Police and US Coast Guard provide additional safety measures.
• City Leadership: The City Manager, City Council, and Mayor of Brigantine collaborate for a smooth event.

Race Details

The triathlon attracts several hundred athletes and features:

• Swim: A ¼ mile swim in the bay, starting at the 26th St. S. City Dock area.
• Bike Ride: A scenic 11-mile course around the Island of Brigantine.
• Run: A 4-mile run to the North end of Brigantine and back, finishing at the 26th St. S. Recreation Complex.
• Athlete Experience: Participants drop their bikes and change into running shoes at the transition area.

Post-Race Celebration

After the event, athletes can enjoy:

• Lunch: Relax with fellow competitors and enjoy a meal.
• Entertainment: A DJ will provide music for a festive atmosphere.
• Awards Ceremony: Celebrate the achievements of participants.
• Community Spirit: A great chance to mingle with local residents and visitors.
