About this race
The Witches, Wheels & Wicked Trails event combines the community spirit of a traditional "Witches Ride" with a fitness-focused Halloween celebration. Hosted by the Hardy County Health and Wellness Center on October 31, 2026, the festivities kick off at 4:00 p.m.
Similar to classic Witches Rides across the country, this event focuses heavily on festive wheels and creative flair. Participants are highly encouraged to embrace the theme! Grab your favorite witch hat, cape, or full Halloween costume to join the local "coven" of participants. Whether you are hopping on a bicycle or setting up a stroller for the family event, dressing up your "broomstick on wheels" is a major highlight of the day.
The event is structured to accommodate all fitness levels, allowing families, casual walkers, and serious runners to share the trails:
The Bike Ride: The dedicated "wheels" portion of the event, perfect for showing off your decorated bicycle.
The 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Trail: Guided paths through the local trails for runners and walkers.
The Kidz Race: A shorter, high-energy event designed specifically for younger kids to participate safely in costume.
Both the start and finish lines are located at the Hardy County Health and Wellness Center in Moorefield.
