About this race
Will the RVM break records again in 2027?
Join us in Victoria, BC October 8-10, 2027 for our
47th Running of the RVM!
Marathon, Outway Half Marathon, Westland Insurance 8K, Island Savings 5K or Thrifty Foods Kids Run.
Our beautiful course weaves through the quiet streets with ocean views throughout Victoria and Oak Bay.
Plus we are a Boston qualifier, Abbott World Majors ranking event, a World Athletics World Ranking Competition and more. We see many runners reaching their personal best times on our course.
A few quick facts about the event in October.
- Choose your distance - Marathon, Half Marathon or 8K on Sunday, October 10, starting and finishing in downtown Victoria.
- The Thrifty Foods Kids Run and Island Savings 5K events will take place on Saturday, October 9, starting and finishing at Willows Park in Oak Bay.
- There will be a course time limit of 6.5 hours for the marathon. There is no early start for any of the distances in 2027. Marathoners must complete the first 13K by 10:15 am in order to be allowed to continue the marathon route. Individuals who have not passed the 13K mark by 10:15 am will be given the choice to move to the half marathon event distance or withdraw from the event.
- The GREEN BIB is also an option. This means you can register and not receive a RVM garment or participant swag item, but still receive a race bib, race bag and your finisher's medal. You will have the option during the green bib registration to select the charity that you would like us to make a donation to as part of the Green Bib option.
- Events will be capped for 2027. In 2025 and 2026, the marathon and half marathon both sold out in July.
- There will be no strollers or pets allowed on the course. Nordic poles will only be allowed for mobility-impaired participants.
- There are no refunds or deferrals allowed for 2027. You can transfer your registration to another person up until August 31, 2027 for a fee.
