About this race
🎉 New Name, Same Tradition: The Emerald Chase is now the Folk Fest 5K!
Kick off Folk Fest morning on the scenic Lake Michigan boardwalk! Hosted by Another Level Athletic Club (ALAC) in proud partnership with Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce (STC). 100% of proceeds support local youth running programs.
Join us on Saturday, July 10, 2027 during the Manistique Folk Fest for the Folk Fest 5K! We are designing an updated, scenic 5K route along the Manistique boardwalk that reduces highway exposure and ends at Folk Fest in downtown Manistique.
📍 SCHEDULE & COURSE- Race Date & Start Time: Saturday, July 10, 2027 @ 9:00 AM
- Start & Finish Location: TBD (Final route details coming soon)
- Friday, July 9: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Manistique High School (100 N Cedar St.)
- Saturday, July 10 (RACE DAY): 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM at the Start Line
Every registered participant receives a custom 2027 Folk Fest 5K T-shirt.
Awards Ceremony: Planned for ~10:15 AM on the Folk Fest Main Stage
Trophies will be awarded to:- Overall 5K Male Winner
- Overall 5K Female Winner
- 5K Grand Master (60+) Male Winner
- 5K Grand Master (60+) Female Winner
- 1st & 2nd Place Male finishers in all age divisions
- 1st & 2nd Place Female finishers in all age divisions
- All 10 & Under finishers
