Poultry and Pie Predictor 4 Mile Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Run

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

A Will County Thanksgiving tradition for more than 40 years! Join Prairie State Road Runners for another running of the Poultry & Pie Predictor on Thanksgiving morning in beautiful Pilcher Park located in Joliet, IL. We are back at the Nature Center!

⏱️ Race Format

• Prediction Run: Leave your watches and timing devices at home! This is a prediction run.
• Equal Opportunity: All runners - regardless of speed - have a chance to win a Thanksgiving prize!
• Prizes: Enter and predict how long it will take you to complete the 4-mile course on the park roads. Those closest to their prediction will choose between a variety of gift cards and holiday sweets.
• Honor System: Refrain from using watches, phones, music players, or anything that will help you keep pace. Just enjoy the park scenery.

👶 Kids Race Details

• Start Time: The 1 Mile Kids race will start at 8:40 am.
• Ages: This race is for kids ages 6-12 and each finisher will receive a goodie.
• Toddler Gobbler: Our littlest runners age 5 & under can line up for the 25-yd Toddler Gobbler dash. This event is FREE.
• Champion Goodies: Each little champion will receive a bag of goodies.

📍 Event Logistics

• Location: All races start and end at the Pilcher Park Nature Center (2501 Highland Park Drive) in Joliet.
• Registration: There will be no race day registration, so please use our online registration service.
• Parking: Parking is VERY limited, so plan to carpool and/or arrive early for the best spots.
• Capacity: The 4 mile predictor race is limited to 150 participants only.

🌦️ Weather Considerations

This will be an outdoor event which will take place regardless of the weather (unless there is a blizzard!). The park roads will be cleared in the event of snow, but there will be no shelter from the elements, except for the back porch of the Nature Center. The building will be closed, but participants will be allowed access to the indoor bathrooms in the facility. All post-race activities will be conducted in the picnic area behind the building.

🕗 Schedule of Events

• 7:45am - 8:45am: Check-In
• 8:40am: Kids 1 Mile
• 9:00am: 4 Mile Run/Walk
• 10:20am: Toddler Gobbler 25 Yard Dash
• 10:30am: Awards Ceremony

🏅 Timing Info

This is NOT a chipped time race. This race will be hand-timed. Results will not be immediately available online, but will be posted at a later time.
