A Will County Thanksgiving tradition for more than 40 years! Join Prairie State Road Runners for another running of the Poultry & Pie Predictor on Thanksgiving morning in beautiful Pilcher Park located in Joliet, IL. We are back at the Nature Center!

⌚ Prediction Run Guidelines

• Watch-Free: Leave your watches and timing devices at home!
• Win Prizes: All runners - regardless of speed - have a chance to win a Thanksgiving prize!
• Guess Your Time: Enter and predict how long it will take you to complete the 4-mile course on the park roads.
• Prizes: Those closest to their prediction will choose between a variety of frozen turkeys, holiday pie/sweets, and gift cards.

🌳 Participants' Expectations

For this race, we ask that you refrain from using watches, phones, music players, or anything that will help you keep pace. You're on the honor system! Just enjoy the park scenery.

🏃‍♂️ Kids Events

• Start Time: The 1 Mile Kids race will start at 8:40 am.
• Ages: This race is for kids ages 6-12.
• Goodie Bags: Each finisher will receive a goodie.
• Toddler Dash: Our littlest runners age 5 & under can line up for the 25-yd Toddler Gobbler dash. This event is FREE.

📍 Race Day Logistics

All races start and end at the Pilcher Park Nature Center (2501 Highland Park Drive) in Joliet. There will be no race day registration, so please use our online registration service. Parking is VERY limited, so plan to carpool and/or arrive early for the best spots. We will have volunteers enlisted to help you find a spot.

🏅 Race Capacity & Weather Considerations

• Participant Limit: The 4 mile predictor race is limited to 150 participants only. When the race reaches capacity, we will activate a waitlist.
• Weather Preparedness: This will be an outdoor event which will take place regardless of the weather (unless there is a blizzard!).
• Road Conditions: The park roads will be cleared in the event of snow, but there will be no shelter from the elements, except for the back porch of the Nature Center.
• Facilities: The building will be closed, but participants will be allowed access to the indoor bathrooms in the facility.

• 7:45am - 8:45am: Check-In
• 8:40am: Kids 1 Mile
• 9:00am: 4 Mile Run/Walk
• 10:20am: Toddler Gobbler 25 Yard Dash
• 10:30am: Awards Ceremony

⏱️ Timing Information

This is NOT a chipped time race. This race will be hand-timed. Results will not be immediately available online, but will be posted at a later time.
