🦃 Race Overview

A Will County Thanksgiving tradition for more than 40 years! Join Prairie State Road Runners for another running of the Poultry & Pie Predictor on Thanksgiving morning in beautiful Pilcher Park located in Joliet, IL. We are back at the Nature Center!

⏱️ Prediction Run Details

• Leave your devices: Leave your watches and timing devices at home!
• Win Thanksgiving prizes: All runners - regardless of speed - have a chance to win a Thanksgiving prize!
• Make a prediction: Enter and predict how long it will take you to complete the 4-mile course on the park roads.
• Choose your prizes: Those closest to their prediction will choose between a variety of frozen turkeys, holiday pie/sweets, and gift cards.

🌳 Event Guidelines

• No pacing devices: We ask that you refrain from using watches, phones, music players, or anything that will help you keep pace.
• Honor system: You're on the honor system! Just enjoy the park scenery.

👦 Kids Races

• 1 Mile Kids race: This race will start at 8:40 am for kids ages 6-12.
• Goodies for finishers: Each finisher will receive a goodie.
• Toddler Gobbler dash: Littlest runners age 5 & under can participate in the 25-yd dash, which is FREE.
• Goodie bags: Each little champion will receive a bag of goodies.

📍 Location and Logistics

• Start/End Point: All races start and end at the Pilcher Park Nature Center (2501 Highland Park Drive) in Joliet.
• No race day registration: Please use our online registration service.
• Parking information: Parking is VERY limited, so plan to carpool and/or arrive early for the best spots.
• Volunteers available: We will have volunteers enlisted to help you find a spot.

☔ Weather Policy

This will be an outdoor event which will take place regardless of the weather (unless there is a blizzard!). The park roads will be cleared in the event of snow, but there will be no shelter from the elements, except for the back porch of the Nature Center. The building will be closed, but participants will be allowed access to the indoor bathrooms in the facility. All post-race activities will be conducted in the picnic area behind the building.

• 7:45am - 8:45am - Check-In
• 8:40am - Kids 1 Mile
• 9:00am - 4 Mile Run/Walk
• 10:20am - Toddler Gobbler 25 Yard Dash
• 10:30am - Awards Ceremony

🔔 Timing Information

This is NOT a chipped time race. This race will be hand-timed. Results will not be immediately available online, but will be posted at a later time.
