Important Notes

• Starting Line: Self-seeded by average expected pace per mile.
• Strollers: Allowed, but be respectful of Adaptive Athletes.
• Dogs: Not allowed due to insurance liability and safety issues.
• Registration: Pre-race day walk-up registration on July 3rd is available: no race day registrations.

Race Day Information

• Packet Pickup: Available on July 4th from 6 am at Kings Park basketball courts (Park & Mallery Streets).
• 5k Start: 7 am: 1 Mile Run starts at 8 am.
• Claim Packets: Unclaimed packets/shirts will be forfeited at 8:15 am.
• Awards Ceremony: 8:30 am.

Starting Line Location

• Address: St Simons Park / Kings Park, 515 Park Ave, St Simons Island, GA 31522.
• Pacing: 10 different pace groups from fast to slow.
• Adaptive Athletes: Starting ahead of everyone else.

Bathrooms

• Facilities: 2 multi-stall bathrooms across the street in Mallery Park, 8 bathrooms at Village Pier Casino, 8 Porta-potties by the starting line.

Food and Snacks On-Site

• Vendors: Sandy Bottom Bagels, Parkers, Georgia Watermelon Association, and more.
• Refreshments: Water bottles, frozen yogurt, oranges, bananas, cookies, and cold brew.

5K Route

• Status: USTAF Certified 5k route.

1 Mile Route

• Details: Starts and finishes at 5K starting line.
• Course: Follows the 5K course with a specific turnaround setup.
• Chip Timed: The 1-mile fun run will be chip timed.
• Map: View the route at Sunshine Festival 1 Mile MAP.

Parking

• Options: Please carpool, be dropped off, ride a bike, or walk!
• Restrictions: Avoid parking near private residences.

July 4th Activities

• Craft Show: Visit our 3-day festival with 60 artists and makers at Postell Park, 530 Beachview Drive.
• Hours: July 3rd 10-5, July 4th 10-5, July 5th 10-4.

Parade and Music

• Golf Cart Parade: July 4 at 11:00 am, dress your cart in red, white and blue.
• Live Music: Bands entertain throughout the day.
• Fireworks: July 4 at 9:00 pm from the pier: best viewed from Neptune Park.
