Important Notes

• Starting Line: Self-seeded by average expected pace per mile
• Strollers: ARE ALLOWED: be careful and respectful of the Adaptive Athletes.
• Dogs: ARE NOT ALLOWED due to insurance liability and safety issues.
• Registration: PRE-RACE DAY Walk-up registration on July 3rd is available. NO RACE DAY registrations on July 4th.

Race Day

• No Registration: NO RACE DAY registrations.
• Packet Pickup: July 4th, 6 am at Kings Park basketball courts (Park & Mallery streets).
• Race Start: 5k Race starts at 7 am, 1 Mile Run starts at 8 am.
• Awards: Awards Ceremony at 8:30 am.

Starting Line

• Location: St Simons Park / Kings Park, 515 Park Ave, St Simons Island, GA 31522.
• Pace Groups: The line will be sorted by expected pace with 10 different pace sections.
• Push Rim Division: Starts 2 minutes ahead of everyone else.

Restrooms

• Location: 2 multi-stall bathrooms in Mallery Park.
• Additional: 8 bathrooms in the Village Pier Casino building on Beachview Drive.
• Porta-potties: 8 available by the starting line.

• Photographer: Sports in Motion Photography.
• Access: Digital images provided for FREE after the event.

• Course: Follows 5K course, finishing at the Start Line.
• Chip Timing: The 1-mile fun run will be chip timed.

Awards

• 5k Awards: Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Masters, and top 3 male and female finishers in each age group.
• 1 Mile Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and female in specific age brackets.
• Costume Prize: Award for the Best Costume (1st Place only).
• Team Awards: Best Team (Largest) and Fastest Team awards.

Parking

• Challenge: Parking can be a challenge: carpool, get dropped off, or ride a bike!
• Areas: Park along Mallery Street, around the ballpark, or by the library or lighthouse.

July 4th Activities

• Craft Show: Sunshine Festival Craft Show at Postell Park from July 4th-6th.
• Golf Cart Parade: July 4, 11:00 am: dress up carts in red, white, and blue.
• Live Music: Entertainment throughout the day on July 4th.
• Fireworks: July 4, 9:00 pm: best views from Neptune Park.
