The Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Location: The Intervale Trail Head of The Jackson River Scenic Trail in Covington, Virginia.
• Course: A USATF certified course that begins and ends at the trailhead.
• Surface: Smooth crushed gravel surface, mostly flat with some light hills.
• Scenery: The trail follows the Jackson River, offering views of communities, fields, and wildlife.

🌤️ Weather

• Event Status: This is a rain or shine event.
• Communications: Updates on race status will be posted on the website, Facebook, and local media.
• Email Notifications: Notices will be sent via the registration email if severe weather is anticipated.

🏆 Awards

• Finisher Medals: All finishers receive a commemorative finisher's medal.
• Top Finishers: Unique awards for the overall top 3 male and female finishers in each race distance.
• Age Group Awards: Certificates for top three male and female finishers in each age group.
• Awards Ceremony: Held 30 minutes after each race at the Intervale Trail Head.

🍽️ Refreshments

• Available: Refreshments for all race participants at the Intervale finish line.

📅 Registration Reminder

• Deadline: Register by May 14, 2025, for a guaranteed T-shirt.
• Shirt Availability: No guarantee for shirts after the registration deadline.

🎫 Packet Pick-up

• When: From noon-4pm at the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism on June 13th.
• Evening Pick-up: Available from 5pm - 8pm at the City Pool.
• Race Day Pick-up: On-site packet pickup will start at 6:30am on June 14th.
