- Date: The 2026 Mermaid Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026
- Location: Festival Park in Aberdeen, MD
- Start Time: 5K Race starts at 8:00 AM, followed by the Mermaid Mile start soon after
- Timing: The 5K Race will be professionally chip-timed by Blue Cheetah Sports Timing
Race Features
- Finisher's Medal: Marathon-quality 5K finisher's medal and event shirt for all participants
- Course: USATF Certified - Fast and FLAT!
- Costumes: Costumes are encouraged!
- Entertainment: Music and prizes will be available!

- Beneficiary: Proceeds will benefit the Sea of Hope Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing support to families who have suffered infancy and pregnancy loss.
- Support Services: The foundation offers resources to help families navigate through grief and find hope.
- Siblings Support: Scholarships are provided to bereaved siblings to support their educational pursuits.
Weather Policy
- Event: This event is rain or shine.
- Refunds: No refunds will be offered due to inclement weather or other reasons.
Mailing Items
- Request Deadline: If you cannot attend the live race and wish to have your items mailed to you, you must request prior to August 31, 2026.
- Shipping Fee: A separate shipping fee will apply.
- Claim Deadline: Any items not claimed or requested by August 31 will be considered a donation to the Sea of Hope Foundation.
- Swaps: After 8/21/26 shirt sizes for swaps to Virtual or Mailouts can not be guaranteed.
