Type: The Urban Environmental Challenge is the first true trail race in the five boroughs!
🌳 Race Details
Location: Historic Van Cortlandt Park in the heart of the Bronx.
Distance: 10k race for runners only.
Health Advisory: While the COVID-19 vaccination is not required at this time, we ask that all participants remain at home if they are not feeling well. Requirements and restrictions are subject to changes, as the situation evolves.
Special Pricing: Special price for 10k runners aged 14-18 and Veterans. Life-time VCTC members can email for a discount code.
Contribution: A portion of your race fees goes to support the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance for trail maintenance and youth programs.
Race Souvenir: All registered participants will receive a race souvenir.
Winners: Male and female 10k winners will receive a delicious cake from Lloyd's Carrot Cake: second and third place will receive muffins.
🚉 Getting There
Public Transportation: Take the 1 Train to the end of the line at 242nd Street, and walk 500 yards. Runners can also take Metro North Hudson Line to Marble Hill.
Check Schedules: Make sure you are checking the Sunday schedules.
Jogging: From Marble Hill, it is about a 1.5 mile jog to the start of the race.
Free Parking: Available at the Van Cortlandt Golf Clubhouse and all along Broadway.
