Wabash Run The River

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Back for its fifth year, Wabash Run The River is a chip-timed race that starts in the heart of Wabash County and runs along the Wabash River! From competitive athletes to leisure runners, this event appeals to everyone! Choose run or walk options from a 13.1 half marathon, 10k, or 5k that will take you along the scenic WABASH RIVER TRAIL located along the Wabash River. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female half-marathon, 10K, and 5K finishers.

  • Evening - Runner check-in/packet pick-up at Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground
  • 5 PM - 8 PM - Wabash First Friday family-friendly street festival
• SATURDAY:
  • Morning - Runner check-in/packet pick-up & day of registration at Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground
  • 8:30 AM - Half marathon start
  • 8:45 AM - MyTeam Triumph start
  • 9 AM - 10K/5K start
  • 11 AM - Awards
  • 12 PM - Course closes

📝 More Details

• Youth Pricing: 17 and younger are $25 🤩 (registration does not include pint glass and they are ineligible for prize money)
• Stroller: Kiddos in strollers are free 👶🏻

• Terrain: Race will be on mostly paved trail with a small section of the half on crushed gravel.

📋 More Race Day Details

• PARKING: There are several parking lots around Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground. We will have “EVENT PARKING” signs in the lots that are available to our participants.
• BATHROOMS: There will be several portable restrooms available at Friendship Hill Inclusive Playground and at each water station along the course.
• WEATHER: The event takes place RAIN OR SHINE with no inclement weather backup date.
• RESULTS: After crossing the finish line there will be a few Results QR codes near the finisher water station. The results are updated every couple of minutes.

🏆 Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony will be at 11 AM near the start/finish line. Thanks to our Corporate Sponsor, Chittick Insurance, we offer cash prizes for the top 3 overall finishers for male and female athletes! Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall top female and male finishers for the Half, the 10K, and the 5K.

High school and college athletes are ineligible to accept cash rewards in accordance with IHSAA regulations. Should a high school or college athlete place first, second or third, in any of the WRTR races those funds will be donated to a local charity in their honor.

🏞️ Terrain Information

The race will be either on the road or a paved path. There will be turnaround flags on the course for each race with verification mats to know when you have reached the halfway point for each race length.

💦 Water Stations

There will be 4 water stations along the trail: located at 1 mile, 2 miles, 4 miles, 6 miles. As you return, runners will hit the same water stops. Portable bathrooms are available at each water station. Water and Gatorade will be available at each water station. Bananas, Gatorade, and water will be available at the finish line.

👕 Event Gear

Event muscle tanks and pint glasses are provided at the event for adult registrations though the April 30th deadline and can be picked up during check-in. Youth registrations through April 30th will only receive an event muscle tank. All muscle tanks are adult sizes.
