Kiss the Goat

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Are you ready to Kiss the Goat? Get ready for an outstanding 1/2 Marathon and 10K trail running event in eastern Kentucky. These trails offer some difficult climbs but with the addition of fast descents and flowy miles. This will be the 4th year of this event and second year with the 1/2 and 10K distances.

📍 Race Details

• Date: May 23, 2026
• Location: 933 Perry Park Rd, Hazard, KY

• Race Time: All racers will take off at 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.

📋 Course Information

• Climbing: The 10K route will be roughly 1250 feet of climbing and the half marathon around 2500 ft of climbing.
• Route: Runners will do a 6.56 mile loop in each direction for the half marathon, and one lap, with a bit of a short cut for the 10K.
• Terrain: Both courses are full of climbing, technical sections and are fully wooded. Trail shoes are highly recommended.
• Cutoff Time: For the half marathon, you must start your second lap before 10:30 AM.

🏆 Awards

• Finisher Awards: All runners get finisher awards.
• Top Performers: Top three male and female of both the half marathon and 10K get a podium medal.

🍽️ Support and Resources

• Snacks: We will have some snacks for during and after the run near the start line.
• Crew Support: Crew is allowed in the start/finish area of each lap for swapping packs, shoes, shirts, etc.
• Water: We recommend everyone run with water. We will have coolers available.

🎧 Headphone Policy

• Usage: Headphones are allowed after the first 4 mins of running.
• Communication: Please take one headphone out or pause your music when approaching any volunteers for communication.

🚮 Littering Policy

• Disqualification: If you are caught intentionally littering on course, you will be disqualified.
• Trash Management: A trash can near the start/finish will be available for wrapping, bottles, etc.

🐕 Important Notice

• Race Course: NO DOGS ON COURSE. They are welcome at the facility, but not the race course.
• Participation: This race is suggested for experienced trail runners/hikers. If you plan to hike, please do the 10K and inform us you are hiking.

📍 Race Day Schedule

• Packing: Pickup begins at 6:30 AM and closes at 7:45 AM.
• Pre-race Meeting: All runners please line up at 7:50 AM for a pre-race meeting about markings and other needed info.
