Snoqualmie Tunnel 5k Glow Run

Event Overview

  • All Ages: Open to participants of all ages.
  • Distance: 5k walk or run through the historic Snoqualmie tunnel.
  • Lighting: The tunnel will be partially lit with LED lights.
  • After Party: Join us at Dru Bru (Sno Pass) for an outdoor block party with food, games, beer, cider, wine, and soda!

  • Race T-Shirt: $15.50 (available until 6/26)
  • LED Gloves: $14.00
  • Participation Medal: $7.50

Race Day Information

  • Check-In: Pick up your race merch onsite the day of the event.
  • Glow Gear: Additional glow gear is highly encouraged: the brighter the better!
  • Personal Lighting: A personal flashlight or headlamp is suggested.
  • Merch Pickup: You will pick up your race merch onsite the day of the event.

The Race

  • Wave 1 - Runners Only: Must be able to complete a 5K in under 45 minutes.
  • Check-In: From 9:00am - 9:50am.
  • Race Start: 10:00am.
  • Wave 2: Joggers/Walkers/Strollers - Check-In from 9:00am - 10:30am, starts at 10:45am.

The race is a loop, starting and ending at the Palouse to Cascades State Park - Hyak Trailhead parking lot. The course is pretty flat, starting approximately 0.5 miles outside the tunnel, run/walk one mile in, turn around, and return back.

Parking

  • Lot 1: Hyak Trailhead lot - A Discover Pass is required for all vehicles entering the state park and is available for purchase onsite or online (http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/).
  • Lot 2: The Summit East Lower Lot - 5 min walk to the event, no Discover Pass needed.

Tunnel Conditions

  • Darkness: Expect extreme darkness and cold temperatures in the tunnel.
  • Clothing: Average temperature is ~50 degrees: a long-sleeved shirt or light jacket is recommended.
  • Surface: The ground is made of compacted gravel.
  • Lighting: LED lights will illuminate the path, and personal lights are encouraged.

Event Guidelines

  • Bikes: This is a bike-free event: strollers allowed.
  • Kids: Kid-friendly: children 4 and under are free and do not need to register.
  • Dogs: Not permitted due to participant volume and event conditions.
