Race Overview

• Anniversary: This race is in its 14th year.
• Purpose: All proceeds benefit the SSgt. Jason Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund.
• Background: Jason and five other US Air Force Combat Search and Rescue airmen were killed in action while on a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan in 2003.
• Scholarship: Since then, the Scholarship has been awarded annually to a graduating senior from Central High School in Pageland, SC, which was Jason’s alma mater.

Application Information

• Eligibility: Any Central High School graduating senior may apply for the Scholarship.
• Criteria: Applicants should demonstrate leadership abilities and community service.
• Application: A Scholarship application for the current school year can be printed by clicking the application link on this site.
• Contributions: Your contributions help ensure that the Scholarship, as well as Jason's name, lives on.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:30 AM: Late Race Registration
• 9:15 AM: Pre Race Ceremony
• 9:25 AM: Registration Closes
• 9:30 AM: Race Begins
• 11:00 AM: Post-Race Festivities and BBQ Chicken Lunch (Non-racers may purchase a meal ticket for $15).

5K Awards

• Overall Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male / Female
• Age Group Awards: 1st Male and Female in each Age Group.

5k Age Groups

• Categories: 13 & Under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

5K Fees (Ages 4 and up)

• Early Registration: $25 up to April 24th.
• Late Registration: $30 from April 24th to May 22nd.
• Day of Race: $35.

Packet Pickup

• Details: Each participant will receive a packet with their race number, their t-shirt (if purchased), admission ticket to post-race lunch, and some other goodies.
• Location: Race packets will be available for pickup at the Pageland Community Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the 5k.
