SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5k

We’re excited to announce the 2026 SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5k. This race is in its 14th year. All proceeds benefit the SSgt. Jason Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jason and five other US Air Force Combat Search and Rescue airmen were killed in action while on a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan in 2003 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Since then, the Scholarship has been awarded annually to a graduating senior from Central High School in Pageland, SC, which was Jason’s alma mater.

Scholarship Application

• Eligibility: Any Central High School graduating senior may apply for the Scholarship.
• Requirements: Applicants should demonstrate leadership abilities and community service.

• Purpose: All proceeds benefit the SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:30 AM: Late Race Registration
• 9:15 AM: Pre Race Ceremony
• 9:25 AM: Registration Closes
• 9:30 AM: Race Begins
• 11:00 AM: Post-Race Festivities and BBQ Chicken Lunch (Non-racers may purchase a meal ticket for $15).

• Adult: Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL.

5K Awards

• Overall Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male / Female.
• Age Group Awards: 1st Male and Female in each Age Group.

5K Age Groups

• Categories: 13 & Under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

5K Fees (Ages 4 and up)

• Before April 24th: $25.
• April 24th to May 22nd: $30.
• Day of Race: $35.

Packet Pickup

• Included: Each participant will receive a packet with their race number, their t-shirt (if purchased), admission ticket to post race lunch, and some other goodies.
• Location: Race packets will be available for pickup at the Pageland Community Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the 5k.
