Oldest Marathon: The NCR Marathon is Baltimoreโs oldest continuously running USATF certified marathon held annually on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
Previous Events: BRRC also presented the historic Maryland Marathon dating back to 1973 before moving to the Northern Central Railroad Trail in 1990.
Course Location: The trail covers nearly 20 miles in Maryland, stretching from Hunt Valley to the Mason-Dixon Line.
Course Features: Scenic wooded run on a crushed gravel and dirt trail alongside the waters of Big Gunpowder Falls.

History: The race originated at the Old Sparks Elementary School and has seen various changes since, including a move to the new Sparks Elementary School.
Relay Introduced: In 2003, the marathon relay was introduced to the event.
Additional Events: An 8K event was added for the 25th anniversary, and the marathon course was re-certified in 2017.
Course Quality: A lot has changed over the years, but it remains a runnerโs race focused on quality and experience.

Blanket: Race finishers receive a large, warm, and soft blanket after crossing the finish line.
Eligibility: You must present your race bib to receive your blanket.
All Participants: Every participant will receive an NCR hoody (unisex sizing) at packet pickup.
Coveted Item: This blanket will be the most coveted piece in your home, even your fur babies will lay claim to it.
