About this race
Welcome to the NCR Marathon
- Event: The 2026 NCR Trail Marathon & Half will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2026.
- Organizer: Presented by the Baltimore Road Runners Club.
- Price Update: NEW FOR 2026: $1 price increase across the board!
- Registration Costs: The 2026 registration is just a $1 increase from 2025.
About the Race
- Tradition: The NCR Marathon is Baltimore’s oldest continuously running USATF certified marathon.
- History: BRRC also presented the historic Maryland Marathon dating back to 1973.
- Trail Details: The Northern Central Railroad Trail covers nearly 20 miles in Maryland.
- Course: Scenic wooded run on a crushed gravel and dirt trail alongside the waters of Big Gunpowder Falls.
Course Evolution
- Start Location: Originally started at the Old Sparks Elementary School.
- Current Start: Marathon now starts at the beautiful Oldfields School campus.
- Relay Introduction: The marathon relay was introduced in 2003.
- New Events: An 8K event was added for the 25th anniversary in 2017.
Runner Experience
- Course Type: A fast course ideal for Boston Qualifying.
- Finisher's Reward: Race finishers receive a large, coveted blanket.
- Participant Gift: Every participant will receive a NCR hoody (unisex sizing) at packet pickup.
- Instructions: You must present your race bib to receive your finisher's blanket.

- Race Finish: Participants will receive the finisher's blanket after crossing the finish line.
- Community: This is a runner’s race, and we take pride in continuing to make the NCR Marathon and Half Marathon a first-class event.
