Welcome to the 36th running of the NCR Marathon presented by the Baltimore Road Runners Club!
The 2025 NCR Trail Marathon & Half will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
About the Race
- Location: 1500 Glencoe Rd, Sparks Glencoe, MD
- History: The NCR Marathon is Baltimore’s oldest continuously running USATF certified marathon held annually on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
- Previous Events: BRRC also presented the historic Maryland Marathon dating back to 1973 before moving to the Northern Central Railroad Trail in 1990.
- Trail Details: The trail covers nearly 20 miles in Maryland, offering a scenic wooded run alongside the waters of Big Gunpowder Falls.
Course Information
- Route: The marathon is an out and back course covering 26.2 miles on crushed gravel and dirt trail.
- Historic Start: Originally started at the Old Sparks Elementary School before moving to other locations.
- Relay Introduction: In 2003, the marathon relay was introduced to the event.
- Anniversary Events: An 8K event was added for the 25th anniversary in 2017, along with a re-certification of the marathon course.
Runner Experience
- Fast Course: This is a FAST course and a great fall Boston Qualifier.
- Finisher Gifts: Race finishers receive a large blanket upon crossing the finish line, after presenting their race bib.
- Participant Hoodie: Every participant will receive a NCR hoody (unisex sizing) at packet pickup.
- First-Class Event: This event takes pride in being a runner’s race and continuously strives to provide a first-class experience.
