Run Caney

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Run Caney is back again! This will be a 5K, 6 mile and 12 mile loop run around beautiful Upper Caney Lake near Minden, Louisiana. The run, set in the slight hills and oak flats of the Kisatchie National Forest: is a beautiful spot to enjoy nature at its finest. It's not too hilly, not too rocky, and not too root laden. It's just right! Goldilocks would love it! This is an "Old School Style" trail run. It's a perfect first timer's race!

📅 Packet Pickup Information

• Date: Packet Pick UP will be at Run Wild in Shreveport on the Thurs. and Friday prior to the race (11th & 12th) from 10 am to 5:45 pm.
• Location: Race morning before the race: at the race location.

👕 Shirt Deadline

There will be a shirt deadline of 12/1/25. Anyone registering after that may not get a shirt!

💰 Usage Fee

THERE IS NO NEED TO PAY THE $5 USAGE FEE. I'VE COVERED IT THIS YEAR BY SECURING THE DAY USE AREA.

⏱️ Finish Line Details

• Running Clock: There will be a running clock at the finish.
• Index Card: Racers will be handed a numbered index card as they finish.
• Runner's Requirement: The runner will then write their name and time on the card.
• Mobile App: In 2024 I used the RunSignUp mobile app with pretty good results.

🏆 Awards

Overall male and female winner in each race will get an award of some type. Age group winner will receive a home-made ornament of some type.

🚫 Race Absence Policy

If you miss the race for any reason, you forfeit your shirt. Of course, you may get your shirt at early PPU and then not attend the race but if you just don't show...I will not hold onto your shirt for you.

The race will take place at 194 Caney Lake Parks Road, Minden, LA.
